Rumi, a poet from the Sufi tradition, wrote many beautiful poems in the 13th century. He is well-known for his love poems of God. One poem entitled "Moving Water,"translated by Coleman Barks, has this amazing line-- When you do something from your soul, you feel a river moving in you, a joy.
I have been pondering this quote this morning and wondering about how we can know the difference when we are doing something from our soul versus when we are doing something from our ego or personality. Also, I have been thinking about how easy it is to live on "automatic" and not even be aware or awake to how we are moving and from what part of us.
What I have come to believe is that each day I must choose. I must set my intention to live in this moment, awake and open. Listening deeply, looking with clarity, and trusting the Divine Love with Everything.
